My descriptive writing

  1. Hi Zack
What an interesting picture you have chosen to describe? Why did you choose this picture? It reminds me of a 'Transformer', which is a car or a truck that can transform into a robot. Do you know if it is a 'Transformer'?

  2. I like the picture that you chose Zack. I think I would have picked that on too as it reminds me of a transformer, which is my favourite movie by the way. I especially love the way you described the legs of the robot. I can now imagine that they are really long. What other things can you see that you may not have mentioned? Go back and have another look and see if you could add some more.

  3. What wonderful descriptive words you have used Zack. I can picture in my mind the robots long legs because I know how long a giraffes legs are. Keep up the great writing.

  4. Kia ora Zack,
You have done an excellent job on your descriptive writing!
I really like the way you have described this image, and even notices a simile in your writing.
The line ‘The robot has long legs like a giraffe’ is fantastic as it really helps me visualise how big the robot’s legs really are.
It would be awesome to see some metaphors in your writing!
A metaphor is when you say one thing is another thing. The words ‘is’ or ‘was’ are used for metaphors. Here are some examples of metaphors, again using the image provided in your post:
‘The robot was as big as a house’
‘The people are ants compared to the robot’
What are 2 metaphors you could come up with from looking at this picture?
It would be awesome if you could reply to this comment and let me know!
You mentioned in your writing that the robot's arms are as long as yours.
    How big are your arms?
Does that mean that the robot has tiny arms compared to his long giraffe legs?
    Keep blogging!
    Nga mihi
